LEWCO, Inc. Manufactures Unique Drum Heating
Cabinet
(December 12, 2007,
Sandusky, Ohio) --
LEWCO, Inc. recently
designed and manufactured a unique drum heating cabinet for the storage and
melting of polyesters, to address the needs of an international manufacturer
of high quality coatings for leather, flexible and non-flexible substrates,
textiles and related products. The cabinet can accommodate a total of 48
standard 55-gallon drums.
The cabinet was designed with two
independent chambers holding 24 drums on three levels. Each chamber can be
operated in steam heat mode, electric heat mode, or steam heat supplemented
by electric heat. A seven day timer is used to switch between heat modes, for
example work-week versus weekend modes.
The design employs a top heater box with a
high volume blower and integral ductwork to circulate air over both electric
heater banks and a steam coil. The individual systems are complete with
control valves, steam traps and strainers, and dual control panels. The
internal size of each chamber is 114" wide x 47" high on all 3 levels x 55"
deep. The maximum temperature required was 250 degrees Fahrenheit.
LEWCO, Inc. drum heating cabinets, and all
LEWCO Process Heating and Material Handling Equipment, are manufactured
under an ISO 9001:2000 Registered Quality Management System.
