LEWCO,
Inc. Custom Designs and Manufactures Unique Composite Curing
Oven.

(August 18, 2008, Sandusky, Ohio) - LEWCO, Inc. has designed and manufactured a
gas-fired walk-in style batch oven to cure miscellaneous
composite parts for a large provider of components for the
aerospace, defense, oil, marine, commercial and recreational
industries. This Walk-In Oven has a work chamber dimension of
48” wide x 168” deep x 108” high, with a maximum operating
temperature of 500 degrees F.
The Composite Cure Oven is specially designed
with composite curing features to provide precision temperature
and pressure controls. Four ½” NPT through wall penetrations,
and 6 jack type “J” thermocouple panels are included inside the
oven and wired back to the Yokogawa strip chart recorder. The
Honeywell process temperature controller can store up to four
different profiles with up to 16 ramp/soak segments in each. A
high-temperature limit controller with manual reset is also
included. This Customized Oven is designed with a pair of “V”
tracks in the floor for cart wheels and a pair of “T” tracks on
the ceiling spaced at 36” centers with a capacity of 100 lbs/ft.
The composite curing oven is constructed of
welded 16 gauge aluminized steel interiors and 18 gauge
aluminized exteriors with 4” mineral wool insulation. This
industrial oven features dual airflow with hot air being
supplied from full length top return plenums, guaranteeing a
temperature uniformity of +/- 10 degrees F. Temperature
fluctuation, as measured by the 9-point test thermocouples, is
guaranteed to be no more than 20 degrees F, measured after the
oven reaches thermal equilibrium.
LEWCO, Inc. designs
and manufactures composite cure ovens in our 165,000 square foot
facility with state of the art metal manufacturing equipment and
a complete engineering and skilled trade staff. In addition to
the HEAT-PRO Industrial Oven and 55-gallon drum heating
equipment, LEWCO also manufactures a complete line of
pre-engineered conveyor equipment.
